EICR Electrical Safety Inspections in Hale
We do EICR electrical safety inspections across Hale at £150 plus VAT for any domestic property, with the certificate issued the same day. The price doesn't change with property size - it's the same whether you're in a two-bed semi or a six-bed detached. Ashley is a NAPIT-registered electrician (66870) and has around twenty years of experience.
Hale properties
Hale has a mix of period properties and larger modern homes. The older properties around Hale village commonly have electrical systems that have evolved over decades - what was originally designed for basic lighting loads has been extended over the years to handle the demands of modern life, and whether the consumer unit, the earthing and the bonding have kept up tends to be what the EICR inspection works out. For properties in the conservation areas around South Hale and Hale Station, we just take the access constraints into account.
Larger modern properties might seem like they'd be straightforward, but we find faults in relatively recent builds more often than you'd expect - loose connections, missing earthing, electrical installation work that was done quickly and not checked properly at the time.
Common electrical issues in Hale
The period properties around Hale village frequently turn up electrical installations where the wiring has been extended over the decades without the consumer unit or the earthing being upgraded to cope. Consumer units that don't meet current safety standards, inadequate circuits for modern electrical loads, and earthing arrangements that need bringing up to date are all common findings on an EICR in Hale. We also see substantial properties where extensions and renovations have added circuits over the years, and whether the original installation was designed to handle what the property has become is what the testing establishes.
The newer properties on the larger plots have their own patterns. Extensions, loft conversions and substantial renovation work each add electrical load, and whether those additions were properly integrated with the existing installation is what the EICR picks up. An electrician who knows the area and the typical installation issues across Hale is better placed to spot the patterns.
For landlords
Landlords are legally required to have an EICR every five years and one for each new tenancy. Fines for non-compliance run up to £30,000, and the local authority can arrange remedial work and bill you for it. Existing tenants need the report within 28 days; new tenants get it before they move in. If the inspection turns up C1, C2 or FI issues, you've got 28 days to sort them. As a NAPIT-registered electrician, Ashley can carry out the EICR and any remedial installation work that comes from it without needing to bring in a separate contractor.
For buyers
Get an EICR before completion. Solicitors and buyers ask for them regularly now, and with Hale's property values, finding out after you've moved in that the consumer unit needs replacing or there's earthing work required is a more expensive surprise than it needs to be. The EICR report gives you something concrete to go back to the seller with if anything comes up, and proper testing is the only reliable way to know what state the electrical installation is actually in.
What's included
The inspection covers a full visual check of wiring, sockets, switches and the consumer unit, then calibrated technical testing for continuity, insulation resistance, earth fault loop impedance and RCD operation. The EICR certificate and report are issued the same day, written in plain English. If we find work that needs doing, we can quote for that and schedule it in - as a qualified electrician and NAPIT-registered installer, Ashley can handle any remedial installation work.
When we find issues
If the EICR inspection turns up problems, we explain what's wrong, why it matters, and what the installation needs to bring it up to standard. No pressure, no inflated prices - just an honest quote from a qualified electrician who's been working across Hale for the best part of two decades. Remedial work gets scheduled within a month.
We also cover Hale Barns and Altrincham nearby.

New solar & battery unit
Ashley and his team fitted a solar & battery unit to my house. They were all great. Polite, knowledgeable and efficient. All the work was completed in the agreed timescale. I would definitely recommend them.
Brilliant!
Brilliant! Super professional, inspected the house, highlighted what needed doing the instead of leaving it there, they went out the way to hop to the shop get the part and install it so I could have the full report and everything sorted that day. 100 recommend!
faulty socket
Ashley was friendly, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. He ensured all work was completed to a very high standard and clearly explained what was happening at every stage. Absolutely A* service.
Oven & extractor fan fitting
Renegade came round to install my oven and splashback. Really nice guys and they did a fantastic job, would definitely recommend
Solar installation
We were looking for an off grid solar installation for our allotment. Renegade gave us a very good quote for the job and so we chose them. This turned out to be a great decision. Ashley did a site inspection and we tweaked the initial design to better suit our location. The installation went ahead on the planned date and the work was completed to a very high standard. We had some additional work carried out at the same time, some due to Ashleys recommendation (e.g. swapping our lighting for LED). I highly recommend Renegade as a trustworthy and competent company.
Renegade Electrical Ltd are brilliant!
Renegade Electrical Ltd have been great. They replaced my electric fuse box really quickly and for a really reasonable price too. Would highly recommend 👌
Renegade Electricals - Exceptional service!
In a word...outstanding! Renegade Electricals installed a 10 panel PV system with battery/inverter for us and we're extremely happy with it. Ashley was easy to deal with, reassuring and very professional providing full documentation and keeping us informed throughout the process. His customer service was exceptional and technical knowledge formidable. The panels, even in winter in the grim/grey north west, are producing impressive stats and its great entertainment watching the Alpha-ESS app showing the panels filling the battery up during the day, then discharging in the evening. RECOMMENDED!
Removed my OHME pro from old house and refitted on a new
Ashley is a great bloke really helpful and responsive. Did a lovely job and was very tidy. Will definitely have him back. Thanks 🙏🏼
