Brilliant bespoke service at very fair price. I contacted several solar fitters, wanting panels put on a flat garage roof rather than the pitched main roof. None were interested. Ashley was happy to look at the best solution and design at a price way less than a pitched roof fitting (no scaffolding needed). And he is an absolute pleasure to deal with. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

My go-to guy for everything solar and electric. Over the last few years Ashley has massive upgraded the electrical setup in our house, with solar panels, two batteries, a car charger, new fuse board, new outdoor sockets, security lights, extractor fan.. I’m sure there’s more. Every job is tackled professionally and with a full and honest explanation of the work involved. On top of all of that, he’s a lovely dude who is a joy to be around. I can’t fault Ashley or any of the wonderful team at Renegade!

I highly recommend Ashley. He came out to check the electrics at my house to issue a certificate of compliance. He was knowledgeable, honest and fairly priced. As I couldn't be present at the visit he sent me a clear video demonstrating why the fuse box had failed the test and advised about the repair. Then, when we had agreed the new part that he needed to buy to make good, he also sent me a photo of the receipt of purchase as it turned out a little more expensive. He gave me good advice for the future and even called the energy supplier to alert them to some possible corrosion at the incoming point to my home which he had noticed. He didn't need to do this as it was my responsibility. Just great service! Thanks Ashley.

Renegade installed a solar system for us, panels and battery storage for an off grid system. This went without a hitch. Ashley was punctual, completed the work to a very high standard and suggested improvements to our setup in order to get the best out of the system. I agree with other reviewers that Ashley goes the extra mile, rare these days. I have no hesitation in recommending Renegade, they will do a brilliant job.

We were looking for an off grid solar installation for our allotment. Renegade gave us a very good quote for the job and so we chose them. This turned out to be a great decision. Ashley did a site inspection and we tweaked the initial design to better suit our location. The installation went ahead on the planned date and the work was completed to a very high standard. We had some additional work carried out at the same time, some due to Ashleys recommendation (e.g. swapping our lighting for LED). I highly recommend Renegade as a trustworthy and competent company.

In a word...outstanding! Renegade Electricals installed a 10 panel PV system with battery/inverter for us and we're extremely happy with it. Ashley was easy to deal with, reassuring and very professional providing full documentation and keeping us informed throughout the process. His customer service was exceptional and technical knowledge formidable. The panels, even in winter in the grim/grey north west, are producing impressive stats and its great entertainment watching the Alpha-ESS app showing the panels filling the battery up during the day, then discharging in the evening. RECOMMENDED!

Just occasionally you come across a contractor who really does go above and beyond expectations…and that is exactly what I experienced with Ashley and Renegade Electricals. After several years of obtaining quotes for PV installations for my 1930’s bungalow, I gained a poor impression of solar providers. Main issue was I had a difficult roof with various obstructions which made the positioning of PV panels problematic. Most companies that estimated did so from a Google maps satellite view which resulted in quotes for six/eight panels when I required 10 for an economically viable system. Many of these companies had a poor reputation, were expensive and I didn’t find their business model reassuring. Eventually I contacted Octopus who were offering PV solutions. However, they only want to do simple jobs – getting a modular kit out the back of a van and sticking it on an obstacle free south-facing roof, all done in a day. So, clearly this wouldn’t suit my irregular roof. But Octopus did recommend certain installers in the area who may be able to quote if you didn’t fit their simple “flat-pack” model. And this is where Renegade Electricals appeared. Ashley was brilliant. He came to the house, measured up the roof, noting the obstacles and establishing workarounds. Consulting with his roofer colleagues, he believed that it would be possible to install 10 panels utilising both south/west facing roofs, explaining that (understandably) it would be a bit of a dog’s dinner. But we were okay with this, it was the only way after all. Ashley also reassured us with his business model, explaining that all payments were insurance backed by the HIES scheme which covers you in the event of a business going bankrupt. Having been a previous victim of this sort of Builders scam I found this very encouraging and consequently elected to use Ashley as my chosen contractor. I felt I could trust him. I soon received written quotations, an explanation of the HIES scheme and projections of what the PV installation was going to generate in the coming years. I got the impression I was dealing with a competent professional who knew his business. A week or two later the scaffolders arrived and completed their work in a couple of hours and the following day Ashley turned up with his cohort Clayton and they began the electrical work in the garage, positioning and installing the battery/inverter. Having quoted for 2 x 4kW batteries, Ashley had phoned me from the wholesalers to inform me that there was a new 9.6kW battery available, with built-in heater (handy in my cold garage, reduces battery discharge) for not much more money so I elected to go for that. A great piece of customer service there. The following day the roofers turned up and installed the 10 panels exactly as Ashley had planned. Okay, they don’t look pretty not having the asymmetry of a typical rectangular arrangement, but it is far better than we could have hoped for. On the final day, commissioning, they got the system running only to run into a couple of technical issues which took some time to resolve. But Ashley worked with Alpha-ESS technical to establish the fault and resolve it. Once up and running I have to say I’m delighted with the installation. It looks neat and professional and the whole experience, taking around five/six weeks in total, was very straightforward. The kit Ashley provided from Alpha-ESS appears top quality and the app for monitoring the kit is very intuitive. I was provided with the requisite certification required to register with Octopus and that process was quickly sorted. I’m now very glad that I took the decision to go ahead with the installation having prevaricated for some time due to my mistrust of the profession and contractors in general – Ashley has turned this around for me. In conclusion Ashley and Clayton were consummate professionals, very reasonably priced and I can wholeheartedly recommend them. I wish them well in their future business and I’ll be using them again in the Spring for a full electrical test/inspection.

Highly recommended. The work began on time and within the agreed time frame. We were kept informed at all stages of the installation. Ashley installed solar panels, battery and inverter for us. He even accommodated a few last minute adjustments and was very understanding. He was extremely competitively priced, having compared with several other companies. We are now happily generating 🌞😎

Fed up of having solar quotes based solely on Google Earth views of my house that excluded what was, to me, the obvious best place for panels - on flat roof. Ashley was very accommodating in viewing the property, and trying out alternative designs. The personal touch was important in both designing the system and installing it. Ashley and Clayton were a pleasure to have around whilst fitting. Cost seemed reasonable. System works really well. Would highly recommend

Ashley fitted 11 solar panels and a 6kWh battery to our house in Prestwich, along with lots of smaller jobs like a "Positive Input Ventilation" system, outdoor lighting, extraction fans, and loads more. Every job was completed with total professionalism and fair prices with the area left clean and tidy. I recommend Ashley any time someone asks for an electrician, and especially if they're interested in generating solar power at home! In summer we now generate more electricity than we can use, and so we sell the excess back to our supplier which offsets our gas bills - very cool.

We had a previous short on our shower unit that burnt out the wiring and melted some of the cover. This meant we needed to get someone in to fit a new cable and shower system. Ashley from renegade electrical thankfully quoted for the job with a good price and availability. Ashley was knowledgeable and courteous including checking some details to make sure the job was done and there was no hold ups. He did the job well and checked the system was working well and we were happy with the job. I would definitely recommend Ashley if we need any other electrical work done.

Ashley did an excellent job installing the solar panels on my roof, the batteries next to my driveway, and the ground-mounted solar setup in my garden. As someone who likes everything to be perfect, I can say he did it exactly how I would have done it (if I had the experience). We first hired Ashley for a second opinion on a whole house rewire, which another electrician convinced us we needed. After inspecting, he let us know that it was fully unnecessary and that we just needed a new fuse board. He saved us thousands of pounds with that first visit and he immediately became our go-to electrician. Since then Ashley has fitted solar panels and a battery, a doorbell, new light sockets, outdoor lighting & power, a bathroom extractor fan, removed old ariels, and probably more stuff I can't remember. I can't fault him at all and have recommended him to my friends.

Ashley fitted an EV charger for us, his installation was prompt and he had excellent knowledge and was able to share that with us whilst he was installing the EV charger. We had a problem with the actual box itself, so we had to call the supplier and have them replace it and during this time Ashley was always calling to check up to see how everything was going. I couldn’t recommend him any higher, he was extremely professional throughout and his prices are very reasonable.

I highly recommend: Ashley came out at very short notice and on a Sunday morning to survey our last minute request for an outdoor power socket to enable our builders to have power without accessing the house. The builders started Monday and Ashley was on site at 9am fitting a double socket for us. A gentleman and clearly excellent and experienced in his trade. We needed the Solar Panels removing and refitting to allow roofers to replace roof. I Posted on CHECKATRADE and received a call from a very kowledgeable gentleman From RENEGADE ELECTRIC. He said he would need to see the job to enable him to work out a job plan and price. The job required working with a team RENEGADE hadnt met before. Great job clean and tidy very knowledgeable

Any issues that may have propped up I was made aware straight away, very clean job minimal damage to walls when installing new sockets and upgrading the singles to doubles, much appreciated and will keep him in my contacts for future work.

I booked a visit for my parents and they were extremely happy with the service provided. Not only did the person replace the ceiling light, but they also helped with the odd jobs around the house that my parents were unable to complete themselves. A great person with a great heart.

Had a bunch of work done by Ashley. New fuse box, outside plugs and lighting. He was really friendly, communicative, explained everything he was doing throughly and did the work to a high standard. We will absolutely be giving him a call next time we need anything electrical done.

Ashley did an excellent job of fitting a light outside my front door, even though it was a bit problematic, due to my ineptitude on buying the correct light ??. Nevertheless he provided the switch that it needed, so I could turn it off. Real friendly guy. Left no mess. Recommend.

I'm over the moon with the service received through Checkatrade. The Electrician, Ashley, was prompt in picking up my request, we agreed a date and time. He was punctual, polite and helpful. His work was to a high standard, no mess, no fuss and advice on suitable lightbulbs. He asked questions I hadn't thought about, i.E. The "drop" from the ceiling (which is high) so that he could adjust the length of chain to suit MY needs. Very good value for a job well done. Will definitely recommend to friends and neighbours. Ash and Brad have just added a couple of new sockets for my TV and electric fire. Some tricky chasing and drilling through my solid brick chimney breast. Very neat job, tidied up afterwards. Very polite and amiable chaps would definitely recommend. 👍

I can not recommend this guy enough!!! I used him for the first time today, the sockets kept tripping In my daughters room where there is a lot of medical equipment. He was round in 20 mins, sorted the problem but also stayed after to make sure it was definitely fixed!! He’s a lovely local lad working within his community.
