How a Solax battery saves you money

Off-peak electricity prices can be as little as one third the price of peak rates. Your battery automatically charges during cheap periods (typically overnight) and powers your home when electricity is expensive. This works well with smart tariffs like Octopus Go and delivers significant savings even during winter when solar panels are less effective.

If you've also got solar, the battery stores excess generation during the day and powers your home through the evening - so you're using your own electricity rather than buying it back at peak rates.

Both are good. The choice tends to come down to:

• Existing kit - if you already have other Solax components (or AlphaESS), staying within one ecosystem means everything talks to each other through one app
• Availability and pricing at the time of your install

Installation process

A qualified electrician (Ashley) assesses your property's electrical system and discusses your energy usage patterns to recommend the right battery size - you won't be visited by a salesperson. This matters because we've seen other installers recommend batteries in unsuitable locations like lofts, which contradicts NAPIT safety guidelines.

Batteries can be installed in various locations - we've fitted systems next to driveways, in garages, and other suitable spaces with minimal disruption. All installations are tested and commissioned to the highest safety standards with full electrical certification provided.
