EV Charger Installations in Altrincham
We install EV chargers across Altrincham. Ashley is a NAPIT-registered electrician, does the survey himself, and we're an Octopus Energy Trusted Partner, so we can fit any of the Octopus charger range along with Solax, AlphaESS, or whatever charger you've ordered yourself.
What it costs to charge at home
Public chargers around Altrincham and the Interchange are running at 60-80p per kWh during peak times (zapmap.com). On a tariff like Octopus Go, home charging is 9.5p overnight. For a daily commute into central Manchester or a run to the airport (15 minutes down the M56), the difference adds up to a fair bit over the course of a year.
A 7kW wall charger does the job overnight in the cheap rate window. The granny chargers that plug into a normal socket will take most of the day and miss that window entirely, so you end up on full daytime rates.
Working with Altrincham properties
Altrincham has a strong mix of period properties through the centre and out towards Bowdon, larger detached homes around Hale and Hale Barns, and newer developments on the edges, and we've worked across most of it. Driveways are common, which keeps installs straightforward. For converted flats or properties with limited off-street parking, we'll work through what's possible with the freeholder or planning constraints.
For listed buildings or properties in the conservation areas around South Hale or Bowdon, we keep the mounting neat and discreet and handle any notifications that come with the work.
Larger properties with three-phase supplies can take a 22kW charger if that suits your usage. Ashley started out on larger commercial setups, so three-phase isn't an issue.
The install
The chargers are weatherproof, so they go on whatever wall suits your parking - garage wall, exterior wall, or wherever the parking sits. Cable runs from the consumer unit to the charger, and where it has to go outside we use armoured cable rated for outdoor use. Most jobs are done in a day. The consumer unit needs to be up to current standards, but if you've had solar or battery work done it already will be.

Fitted 3 batteries and Invertor very professional and friendly
From the start he was extremely friendly, knew what he was talking about and we agreed a price, he came did the job it took longer than he expected but he didn't complain he took his time to finish the job and came back next day to help set it up, I was thoroughly impressed
New solar & battery unit

Brilliant! Super professional, inspected the house, highlighted what needed doing the instead of leaving it there, they went out the way to hop to the shop get the part and install it so I could have the full report and everything sorted that day. 100 recommend!

Solar installation
We were looking for an off grid solar installation for our allotment. Renegade gave us a very good quote for the job and so we chose them. This turned out to be a great decision. Ashley did a site inspection and we tweaked the initial design to better suit our location. The installation went ahead on the planned date and the work was completed to a very high standard. We had some additional work carried out at the same time, some due to Ashleys recommendation (e.g. swapping our lighting for LED). I highly recommend Renegade as a trustworthy and competent company.

Renegade Electricals - Exceptional service!
In a word...outstanding! Renegade Electricals installed a 10 panel PV system with battery/inverter for us and we're extremely happy with it. Ashley was easy to deal with, reassuring and very professional providing full documentation and keeping us informed throughout the process. His customer service was exceptional and technical knowledge formidable. The panels, even in winter in the grim/grey north west, are producing impressive stats and its great entertainment watching the Alpha-ESS app showing the panels filling the battery up during the day, then discharging in the evening. RECOMMENDED!
