EV Charger Installations in Cheetham Hill
We install EV chargers across Cheetham Hill. Ashley is a NAPIT-registered electrician and an Octopus Energy Trusted Partner, and we're based just up the road in Prestwich.
What it costs to charge at home
Public chargers around Manchester Fort cost 50-80p per kWh (rac.co.uk). On a tariff like Octopus Go, home charging overnight is 9.5p. For a typical commute into the city, that works out to around £2 at home against £10 or more at the public charger, and over a year the difference adds up to a fair bit.
The government EV grant covers up to £350 off the install. We're OZEV-approved and we sort the paperwork.
Working with Cheetham Hill properties
Cheetham Hill has a mix of Victorian terraces, semis with driveways, and converted flats. For terraces without off-street parking, we run cable through to rear access where it's available, or fit a front-mounted charger with proper cable management. For converted flats we'll work with the management company on what's possible. Either way, we walk you through where the cable's running before any of it goes in.
Chargers we install
We fit the full Octopus EV charger range - smart chargers that wait for the cheap rate window before charging the car. If you've got Solax or AlphaESS solar or battery kit, their chargers integrate with their own systems and we fit those as well. If you've ordered a different charger yourself, we'll install whatever you've got.
The install
Most jobs are done in a day, and often half a day for a straightforward setup. The chargers are weatherproof, so they go on whatever wall makes sense - garage, exterior wall, wherever the parking sits. Where cable runs outside from the consumer unit to the charger, we use armoured cable rated for outdoor work.
The consumer unit needs to be up to current standards, but if you've had solar or battery work done it already will be. You don't need solar to get on a time-of-use tariff - that's available to anyone with a smart meter.

Fitted 3 batteries and Invertor very professional and friendly
From the start he was extremely friendly, knew what he was talking about and we agreed a price, he came did the job it took longer than he expected but he didn't complain he took his time to finish the job and came back next day to help set it up, I was thoroughly impressed
New solar & battery unit
Ashley and his team fitted a solar & battery unit to my house. They were all great. Polite, knowledgeable and efficient. All the work was completed in the agreed timescale. I would definitely recommend them.

Brilliant! Super professional, inspected the house, highlighted what needed doing the instead of leaving it there, they went out the way to hop to the shop get the part and install it so I could have the full report and everything sorted that day. 100 recommend!

Solar installation
We were looking for an off grid solar installation for our allotment. Renegade gave us a very good quote for the job and so we chose them. This turned out to be a great decision. Ashley did a site inspection and we tweaked the initial design to better suit our location. The installation went ahead on the planned date and the work was completed to a very high standard. We had some additional work carried out at the same time, some due to Ashleys recommendation (e.g. swapping our lighting for LED). I highly recommend Renegade as a trustworthy and competent company.

Renegade Electricals - Exceptional service!
In a word...outstanding! Renegade Electricals installed a 10 panel PV system with battery/inverter for us and we're extremely happy with it. Ashley was easy to deal with, reassuring and very professional providing full documentation and keeping us informed throughout the process. His customer service was exceptional and technical knowledge formidable. The panels, even in winter in the grim/grey north west, are producing impressive stats and its great entertainment watching the Alpha-ESS app showing the panels filling the battery up during the day, then discharging in the evening. RECOMMENDED!
