Social Value Policy

Renegade Solar Ltd

Social value matters to our team at Renegade Solar. We believe renewable energy should create positive outcomes for the environment, local communities, and the wider economy. Our social value approach focuses on reducing carbon emissions, supporting local employment, and contributing to sustainable communities across Greater Manchester.

Environmental Impact

Every installation we carry out is an opportunity to reduce carbon emissions and move closer to a cleaner energy future. We minimise waste and promote recycling on every project, and we encourage energy efficiency measures alongside our solar installations so that customers get the most from their investment.

Local Communities

We are committed to giving back to the communities we serve in North Manchester and beyond.

We prioritise working with local roofers, scaffolders, and tradespeople on every job. Keeping work local means the money spent on your installation supports families and businesses right here in Greater Manchester.

We are currently working with the University of Manchester to design a mobile education unit that will travel around Greater Manchester teaching the public how solar energy works. We also offer advice and educational sessions on solar energy to homeowners and businesses who want to understand their options before committing.

Every Christmas we donate new toys and clothes to The Lighthouse Project, a local charity based in Middleton that supports families across North Manchester. We also proudly sponsor Blackley Lions FC, a grassroots football team in our local community.

Employment & Skills

We provide apprenticeships and training opportunities where possible, and we invest in ongoing employee development so our team stays up to date with the latest solar technology and installation standards.

Ethical Business Practices

We maintain fair working conditions across all of our projects. Our suppliers are expected to follow ethical and environmental standards, and we promote diversity and equal opportunities throughout the business.

How We Deliver Social Value

We sub-contract local roofers and scaffolders to keep investment in the Greater Manchester economy. Materials are sourced from responsible suppliers where possible, and we reduce our own travel emissions by carrying out consultations remotely over WhatsApp and video calls wherever we can.

We provide solar education resources to local homeowners and businesses, and we track the environmental benefits of every installation so we can measure the real-world impact of our work.
